For Adam...just 18

On the occasion of his 18th Birthday....2008.
From Mom

You were just my baby,
I remember when you could crawl.
You were just my baby,
And, hey, you’re playing ball.

You were just my baby,
And then you started school.
You were just my baby,
And now you’re really cool.

You were just my baby,
And we taught you to read a book.
You were just my baby,
And, wow, you can really cook!

You were just my baby,
And you know you signed my name!
You were just my baby,
And to punish you was a shame.

You were just my baby,
And chorus was all the rave.
You were just my baby,
And as Tevye you had to shave!

You were just my baby,
And in wrestling you had to pin.
You were just my baby,
And much happiness there has been.

You were just my baby,
And you managed field hockey.
You were just my baby,
And some of our times were rocky.

You were just my baby,
And your dad allowed you to drive.
You were just my baby,
And I thank the Lord you are alive.

You were just my baby,
And now you have a job.
You were just my baby,
And Young Rust played for a mob!

You were just my baby,
Remember when we’d sing?
You were just my baby,
And now Alex has a ring!

You were just my baby,
I thought that it would last.
You were just my baby,
Now many years have passed.

You were just my baby,
And now you are eighteen.
You were just my baby,
And you are graduating.

You were just my baby,
And I used to hold your hand.
You were just my baby,
And now you’ve become a man.

You have always been my baby,
And I love you oh so much.
You will always be my baby,
You just grew up in such a rush!

I will always love and cherish you....
